Catherine P. Waltner
died on December 29, 2008, leaving a generous bequest to Sierra Chamber Opera.
She was a longtime member of the Fresno Opera League
and through that connection became a longtime supporter of SCO and a
close friend of Alan Rea's. She was well-known and loved for the
volunteer work she did in the community and for her commitment to the
service of others. Rest in peace, dear friend.

Give a Gift of Music that Leaves a Legacy
Sierra Chamber Opera honors those who have remembered Sierra Chamber Opera in their estate plans. Your lasting commitment to the musical education of our Valley youth ensures the continued success of our efforts to provide our community with a unique, one-of-a-kind musical and educational experience for our Valley students.
It is very easy to change a life insurance or retirement plan beneficiary designation to include SCO – designate a percentage of those funds – 5%, 10%, and of course, more if you can afford it…and your family will still be well cared for.
And it may make a lot of financial sense to do this too. For example, pension money has never been taxed; if you leave it to anyone other than a charity, it WILL be taxed - but leave it to Sierra Chamber Opera and every dollar will be put to good use! No income or estate tax is due because the Sierra Chamber Opera is a 501 (c) (3) tax-exempt organization.
To learn more about giving through beneficiary arrangements, please contact Alan Rea, founder of Sierra Chamber Opera, at (559) 227-4377 or by e-mail at alanrea@prodigy.net.
Leave a lasting legacy for Valley students – call today.
